Floating Housing Support Services
This is a service designed to work alongside people with drug and/or alcohol issues to help them deal with practical problems that may affect their tenancy.
Inward House Projects recognises that a stable home and a structured lifestyle are key factors for an individual dealing with problematic substance use and destructive behaviour. We hope to work in cooperation with other agencies that individuals may be in contact with, for example, CDT, probation or landlords. The aim of the service is to complement existing services and to offer provision that integrates with present measures.

- Assistance in neighbour disputes
- Help accessing education and training
- Help accessing services, for example, GP or Citizen's Advice Bureau

To Make a Referral
Individuals may be referred through a service they are in contact with or they may self-refer. Once referred there is an interview to assess for suitability, potential risk and support needs. The extent and urgency of an individual's support needs will determine whether they are immediately brought on to the caseload or initially placed on the waiting list.
If placed on the waiting list, a Floating Housing Support worker will try to sustain contact with them throughout this period.
If placed on the caseload, the client will be assigned a key-worker who will then complete a full assessment, which will identify relevant support indicators and result in an agreed support plan.
Support is available for up to 2 years. However, as the support needs of each individual are different the duration of support is flexible and will be regularly reviewed.
