Floating Housing Support is a community-based service designed to work alongside people with drug and/or alcohol issues. The aim of Floating Housing Support is to help people deal with practical problems that may affect their tenancy. We aim to work with other agencies that each person may be in contact with, for example, housing providers, drug and alcohol agencies, probation service, social services, doctors, benefit agencies.Referral Criteria
Clients may be referred through an outside agency, another Inward House service, or they may self refer. As the majority of the support work is carried out in the individual’s own homes, it is of priority for the support worker to have as much information on risk/potential risk as possible from the referrer. Clients must:
- Have drug and/or alcohol issues or being prescribed substitute medication.
- Live within the following areas: Blackburn with Darwen, Hyndburn, Ribble Valley, Rossendale, Burnley, Pendle, Lancaster, Morecambe and Preston.
- Must have housing issues such as, homelessness, threat of eviction, rent arrears, sub-standard housing or any issue that may impact on a tenancy.
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- Must agree to work with a Floating Housing Support Worker on housing issues.
