Probation Support Service ...
Probation Support is a community-based service designed to work alongside people with drug and/or alcohol issues, who have been sentenced by the courts to address these issues as part of their probation requirements. Inward House Projects staff are based at all 15 Probation Office locations in Lancashire. The aim of Probation Support Workers is to help people deal with social issues that may affect their life in the community such as employment, education, housing, health, finances, community treatment, etc. We work with the other agencies that each person may or may not be in contact with, for example, Jobcentre+, colleges, CJDT etc.Referral Criteria
Referrals can only come from National Probation Service Case Manager’s. All referrals must be made via the National Probation Service, and clients must be subject to a Community Rehabilitation Order or equivalent. If a client is not suitable then they will be referred on to a more appropriate service. Clients can meet any of the following criteria:-
- Clients who feel they have an alcohol problem
- Clients who are still chaotic in their drug use
- Clients who feel their stimulant use is becoming a problem and need additional support
- Clients who feel they have a problem with other drug use
- Clients who are substituting their illicit drug use with alcohol
- Clients who are prescribed Methadone and require additional support
